ATED – annual chargeable amounts increased – Autumn statement

28 Nov 2022

The government has announced that annual chargeable amounts will be increased for enveloped dwellings. The following is an extract from the HM Treasury document CP751, entitled Autumn Statement 2022 (para. 5.24), with paragraph spacing added for greater clarity:

“The annual chargeable amounts for the ATED will be uplifted by the September CPI figure of 10.1% for the 2023-24 ATED charging period.

This uplift is a routine change as set out in existing primary legislation.

The government will implement these changes in the usual way through a Treasury Order.”
