HMRC have updated their list of registered community amateur sports clubs (CASCs).
Eligible sports clubs can become a CASC, with the following advantages:
- tax relief on income, gains and profits from certain activities;
- gift aid repayments on donations;
- business rates relief; and
- relief on money used to promote and provide facilities for eligible sports (“qualifying purposes”).
Clubs will need to decide whether to register as a CASC or a charity; they cannot be both.
