HMRC update number of live corporate criminal offences investigations

30 Jan 2023

HMRC have issued an update of the number of live corporate criminal investigations currently underway.

It is a crime for corporations to fail to put in place reasonable procedures to prevent associated persons from criminally facilitating tax evasion. Relevant bodies should be criminally liable where they fail to prevent those who act for them, or on their behalf, from criminally facilitating tax evasion.
