In an update given on 6 December, HMRC have advised agents that:
“All VAT registered businesses should now be signed up for Making Tax Digital for VAT. HMRC will be signing up all remaining businesses automatically. You no longer need to sign up clients yourself.”
The LITRG has issued a press release warning of the risk of imminent filing problems under the new reporting regime.
