The government has announced that the thresholds will be maintained for a further two years from 1 April 2024. The following is an extract from the HM Treasury document CP751, entitled Autumn Statement 2022 (para. 5.29), with paragraph spacing added for greater clarity:
“The VAT registration and deregistration thresholds will not change for a further period of 2 years from 1 April 2024.
At £85,000, the UK’s VAT registration threshold is more than twice as high as the EU and OECD averages.”
